Norwalk to participate in a haunting
For two nights later this month, Norwalk ghosts and goblins can get spooked at a local park.
The event, sponsored by the Norwalk Historic Society, is for children from eight years old up to (and including) adults. Some fees apply.
Lantern guided tours through the Mill Hill graveyard will be taken every half hour. New tales will be related this year including South Norwalk’s Nelson Taylor’s, spirit and the Revolutionary War soldier, Jacob Nash, who died in the burning of Norwalk. Those who dare may want to bring cameras with special night vision lens to get some terrifying pictures for later poster printing.
Refreshments will be available in the Little Red Schoolhouse after each tour. Since space is limited, organizers advise getting tickets early. Early Bird tickets can be purchased before October 22 and will be a couple of dollars cheaper than the $15 adult/teen tickets and $10 for kids (8 to 12) at the event site. It is suggested that participants bring a lantern and a friend.
The event will be at the Mill Hill graveyard at 2 East Wall St. Norwalk on October 23 and October 24 from 6:00 pm until 9:30 pm. If the weather is frightful itself, it will be held under a tent. Net proceeds will go to the cultural and educational programs of the Norwalk Historical Society.
