Norwalk tees off for local park

The 2018 Mayor’s Golf Tournament is coming late in September. This will be a morning of golf, fun and food. Proceeds will go to the upkeep and preservation of our local park.

Registration can be made online or by mailing checks to Oak Hills Park. This year’s fee will be $99 per player. Registration includes golf and cart, breakfast and lunch.

Individuals may register and will be paired with other players to form foursomes. Many local businesses and organizations will be sending groups of foursomes as part of their corporate gifts programs.

This event will have a scramble format and the top three teams will receive prizes. There will also be prizes for the player who shoots closest to the pin and for the longest drive. The golf course will be 18 holes and is rated 70.3.

The day will begin with registration and breakfast. An hour later everyone will get ready for the shotgun start.

Lunch of burgers, hotdogs and pulled pork will be included in the registration fee. Spectators who just want lunch will pay $35 for tickets.

Besides rooting for their favorite golfers, spectators will get the opportunity to explore the nature trails, fountain garden area and great lawn of the newly redesigned park.

The Mayor’s Trophy tournament will be Monday September 24th from 7:30 until 4:00 pm at Oak Hills Park, 165 Fillow Street.
