Norwalk putts for charity
The Norwalk Rotary Club is presenting its 5th Annual Putting for Charity event in mid-September.
Organizers promise that the only difference between this and a full-fledged golf tournament is that the distance between the holes is shorter. Guests can win golfer and raffle prizes, tournament awards, and there will be a 50/50 drawing.
The $75 tickets for individual players ($275 for foursomes) will include 18 holes of miniature golf, and dinner consisting of two drinks, appetizers, pizza, BBQ chicken, roasted pork, marinated flank steak, sides, watermelon, and cookies for dessert.
Golfers that attend events like this usually bring updated business cards and use the non-playing time as a networking opportunity.
Tee time will be at 5:30 pm with the dinner at Ripka’s Beach Café, 99 Calf Pasture Beach Road, beginning after play at 7:00 pm.
Proceeds from the tournament will go to the Norwalk Family & Children’s Agency. The FCA provides after-school and summer programs, and psychiatric services for children; parenting education, and adoption services for parents; helps adults with mental health counseling, housing, and abuse treatment, and aids seniors by offering caregiver support, emergency alert systems, live-in assistance, and personal care givers.
Putt for Charity will be Tuesday, September 12th from 5:30 pm to 9:00 pm at Norwalk’s Cove Marina’s Cove Miniature Golf, 48 Calf Pasture Beach. A rain date has been set for Thursday, September 14th.
