What's Happening in Norwalk, CT…

Norwalk looks forward to dining and dancing

In a few weeks, Stamford will be holding its first Hey Stamford Food Festival, no doubt attracting many to make the short journey from Norwalk.

The event will feature over 30 local and regional eateries and breweries. Local chefs will be serving their specialties, and the event will be teeming with food trucks.

Live music will be provided by Jessie’s Girl and The Fresh Kids of Bel Air. Jessie’s Girl will be playing hits from the ‘80s from artists such as Michael Jackson, Prince, Cindi Lauper, Bon Jovi, Madonna, and likely the Rick Springfield song from which they take their name. The Fresh Kids of Bel Air will be belting out the oldies from the ‘90s, bringing back the sounds made famous by artists like Whitney Houston, Beastie Boys, R.E.M., Missy Elliot, and Nirvana.

Norwalk fans who followed the music artists back in the ‘80s and ‘90s may want to dig out their old promotional products such as T-shirts, hats, and visors and wear them to the festival. Fans of these two new bands may want to ask the members if they have any flyers, posters, or promotional drinkware for purchase.

The Hey Stamford Food Festival will be Saturday, August 26 at Mill River Park in Downtown Stamford, rain or shine. Gates will open at 1:00 pm, and the event will wind down around 9:00 pm. Admission will be $10 per individual and $30 for family of four.
