Norwalk invited to just be nice
More than just words, the Norwalk International Cultural Exchange will be promoting awareness of other countries’ arts and culture by hosting The Nice Festival early next month.
The event will celebrate these differences in music, talent, art and food from around the world. Some participants will be Ct Students for a Dream and the Center for Global Studies. This will be the inaugural year for the event. Over 4,000 people are expected.
There will be musicians, and dancers. One example will be Vania Samba, a Samba dancer. Local international restaurants such as Sal’s Italian Food Flavors and Kitchen Magic Inc.as well as local food vendors such as Sunny’s Grinder and the Meltmobile will be selling their specialties. Pictures of this colorful new event may make nice additions to the city’s 2017 visitor’s guide brochures or for personal poster printing.
The festival will be benefitting five charities. One will be the Carver Foundation of Norwalk, the biggest after- school care provider in Norwalk. Others will be Amazing Girl Science (which works to empower girls in math, engineering, technology and science), the United Haitian American Association, the South Norwalk Community Center and Nice, Inc.
The event is scheduled for July 9th and will run from 12 to 9 pm at Oyster Shell Park, 10 North Water Street here in Norwalk.
