Norwalk hosts annual half marathon
The Garavel NoNo Half Marathon/5k will be returning to Norwalk in early October.
Registration for the half marathon will be $75 and $70 for students, or $40 for those running the 5k and $35 for students. The Kids Fun Run is free to participate in.
The Garavel SoNo Half Marathon and 5k will be a charity fundraiser and runners may choose to support Project Purple, Higher Education Literacy Professionals, Inc., or Open Doors. All registration fees will be waived with fundraiser donations of $250 or more.
Swag will include finisher medals for both races, neck gaiters, and technical running shirts featuring this year's graphic design for all pre-registrants. Runners will also get pizza, beer, ice cream, cookies, and fruit at the post-race party. Free race photos will also be available. Cash prices will go to the top three overall half marathon female and male finishers.
Race packets will be available from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm at Outdoor Sports Center, 80 Danbury Road, Wilton on Saturday, October 5.
Packets will also be available from 6:30 am to 8:00 am on race day. The half marathon will begin at 8:30 am, followed by the 5k starting at 8:35 am. Runners may pick up their awards beginning at 10:00 am. The Kids Fun Run will take place at 11:00 am.
