Norwalk gobbles up a Thanksgiving Luncheon

For the 18th year, a free Community Thanksgiving Luncheon will be provided to all members of the Norwalk community a few days before their traditional Thanksgiving Day. The event is an occasion for members of our diverse area to get together and celebrate our community.

The meal will consist of all the traditional Thanksgiving fare, including turkey, ham, mashed potatoes, corn, green beans, cranberry sauce, and pumpkin pie. The venue will have arts and crafts, kids’ activities, entertainment, live music, and karaoke.

Volunteers will be preparing food, decorating and setting up tables, and chairs the day before the luncheon and greeting and passing meals to guests as they arrive. Some people are still needed to break down the event.

For those people who may want to help but cannot volunteer, monetary donations will be accepted gladly.

The organizers are asking the community to get the word out through distributing flyers, placing banners and signs in their yards, and posting on social media. Some may wish to get the information to their social organizations before their monthly newsletter printing.

The Norwalk Thanksgiving Luncheon will be Sunday, November 19 from noon until 2:00 pm at 718 West Avenue, Norwalk. This building is right across the street from the Norwalk Public Library. No registration will be necessary and walk-ins will be welcome
