Norwalk will be celebrating the holidays with its 3rd annual Holiday Extravaganza and a caroling party coming in early December.
To begin the holiday season, there will be a tree lighting for the 38-foot tree, live performances, and Santa and the Grinch will have a 150-foot rappelling race down the side of a building at the Holiday Extravaganza.
The carousel and merry-go-round will be available for rides, and kids may write letters to Santa, and visit with characters from Disney's "Frozen" movie. They may also try out crafts like ornament painting, activities such as touch-a-truck, and special offerings in the Holidays Around the World corner.
More than 25 vendors will be selling everything from candy and treats to candles, home made goods, and other crafts in the Local Maker Market. Holiday vendors often get festive custom Business Cards printed at local Print shops.
Warm drinks will be available at the Blind Rhino Hot Cocoa Bar, and RingSide Grill, Grumpy Dumpling, and Latin Flavor will also be onsite selling holiday treats.
Norwalk's 3rd annual Holiday Extravaganza will take place from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Saturday, December 7, at 50 Washington Street Plaza.
At 5:45 pm that evening, everyone is invited to meet at BJ Ryan's East, 1 Cove Avenue, for the 10th annual Christmas Caroling in the '55. Participants are asked to bring unwrapped toys that will be donated to a local toy drive. The caroling will be at the Marvin housing complex.
