Norwalk celebrates oysters
Norwalk Seaport Association will be celebrating its fortieth Oyster Festival in September. First County Bank will be presenting this three-day event with kids’ rides, live entertainment, a beverage tasting tent, and two thrill shows.
The Main Stage will feature six bands. The first evening, Mike DelGuidice & Big Shot will be playing Billy Joel hits; The next night will be an Eagles tribute band Desert Highway, and a Santana tribute band – Sacred Fire; The last night will have Eight to the Bar, Connecticut National Guard Band and VMI Commanders Jazz Band. Whenever tribute bands play, attendees can usually be found wearing the original artists' tees and other promotional products.
The venue will have an International Food Court, plenty of arts and crafts and a Kids’ Cove with carnival rides.
Two thrill shows are scheduled. One will be the Nerveless Nocks Motorcycle Thrill show and the other will be the Stihl Paul Bunyan Lumberjack Show.
Family Day will be Sunday this year. One child under 12 will be able to get in free when one adult pays for an adult ticket.
The Oyster Festival will take place at Norwalk Veteran’s Memorial Park at 42 Sea View Avenue, Norwalk from Friday September 8th through Sunday, September 10th. Hours will be Friday from 6 to 10 pm, Saturday from 11:00 am to 11:00 pm and Sunday from 11:00 am until 8:00 pm.
