What's Happening in Norwalk, CT…

Norwalk celebrates its eerie past

There is still time to get tickets for the 6th annual Haunting at Mill Hill.

The tours will soon be held on two nights, with the Norwalk Historical Society once again be hosting the hour-long lantern-lit tours.

The journeys will take guests through the old Mill Hill graveyard. New stories this year will be related by eerie spirits. One of these will be the “ghosts” of the infamous Norwalk murder victim and mobster, Luigi Apicella. Another will be Myron Olmstead, who was a victim of rabies. All the stories have been authenticated by local historians Madeleine and Ed Eckert.

Visitors will need to stay alert as local special effects experts George Holomakoff and Greg King have incorporated some “bone-chilling” surprises. Photographers with special lens may be able to capture these ghostly effects and immortalize them through poster printing.

Organizers suggest that guests bring flashlights, and advise that the tour is not recommended for kids under the age of eight. Net proceeds will go to supporting the museum’s exhibits and the Society’s education programs.

The tours will be Friday, October 21 and Saturday, October 22 at Mill Hill Historic Park, 2 Wall Street in Norwalk. The first tour will start at 6:00 pm, the second at 7:30 pm, and the last at 9:00 pm. Refreshments will be served in the Little Red Schoolhouse after each tour.
