Norwalk celebrates Chanukah
Norwalk will be celebrating Chanukah with three events next week.
Schneerson Center Chabad and Beth Israel Chabad will be hosting Lights, Latkes & Chinese Chanukah Family Shabbat Dinner. Activities will include lighting the giant outdoor menorah at 4:00 pm, lighting individual menorahs at 4:10 pm, lighting shabbat candles at 4:15 pm, and kabbalat shabat at 4:30 pm. At 5:15 pm, there will be a Chinese dinner including latkes (potato pancakes).
Adult tickets will be $36 and children’s tickets for kids from ages six to sixteen will be $15.
Lights, Latkes & Chinese Chanukah Family Shabbat Dinner will take place December 23 beginning at 4:00 pm at Beth Israel Chabad of Westport/Norwalk, 40 King St.
Young Jewish Professionals, CT will have their Chanukah party – Light Up SONO. The venue will feature an open bar, light bites, latkes, and lighting of the menorah. It will take place December 22, beginning at 7:30 pm at SoNo 50, 50 Washington Street.
Also, Stew Leonard’s will be holding its 30th annual Menorah lighting Festival of Lights this weekend. Beth Israel Chabad of Westport/Norwalk’s Rabbi Yehoshua Hecht will light the 18-foot menorah. Afterward, the celebration will continue with live music, song, and dance. Complimentary juice and refreshments will be served, and chocolate gelt and dreidels will be passed around.
Stew Leonard’s Menorah Lighting Celebration will begin at 5:00 pm on Sunday, December 18 at 100 Westport Avenue.
