Marina hosts boat show
Norwalk Cove Marina, at 48 Calf Pasture Beach Road, will be the location of this year’s Norwalk Boat Show coming toward the end of this month.
Boat manufacturers will include Aviara, Back Cove, Boston Whaler, Cape Craft, Cheoy Lee, and Everglades, along with 15 to 20 others.
Goose Mummock Saltwater Fishing will hold seminars and provide casting demonstrations in a 30-foot fishing tank. Guests can stroll over to the dock to explore the 42-foot Contender fully equipped for saltwater fishing and view gear demonstrations.
On-water training will include hands-on experiences in knots, boat handling, weather awareness, and navigation. Attendees can also try kayaking and paddle boarding.
Kids can enjoy paddle boating in a mini lake, touching tidepool critters in the touch tank, building toy boats, and going on a treasure hunt. Everyone can have a ride on free power boat and electric boat rides.
The Clean Earth Project, an eco-friendly women-owned brand, will be selling products to help support their clean-up initiates and environmental protection programs. Some items for sale will be reusable drinkware, hats, and T-shirts each sporting the organization’s logo and/or graphic design, and stars and stripes merchandise.
Norwalk elementary and middle schoolers will compete in the first Annual Clean Water Campaign Contest. Projects will demonstrate how to reduce plastic waste, protect the environment, and show a positive impact on the environment.
Norwalk Boat Show will be September 23 to 26.
