Local venue to host tasting fundraiser
For those folks in Norwalk who love to travel and eat, the local YWCA is presenting ‘Travel with Taste’ in just a couple of days.
Local restaurants will be distributing their specialties to guests in an evening of food and entertainment. This will be a fundraiser for the YWCA programs such as Job Search and Parent Awareness.
The Dolce Hotels and Resorts will be among the restaurants providing the evening’s entrees. Other participating restaurants will include the Center Street Public House, The Gingerbread Man, Dunville’s, Abello’s, and Washington Prime. The Maplewood Senior Living facility will also be providing food.
Music will be provided by Tangled Vine, and the evening will be highlighted by an auction and numerous raffles. Some items to be auctioned off include vacations at resorts in Barbados, Antigua, Panama, and St. Lucia, as well as a free stay at Camp Cody (a summer camp in New Hampshire). Tickets to sporting and entertainment events, and gift certificates to spa and fitness centers will also be up for bid. The David Emberling Studio will be offering a family portrait photography sitting. Guests will want to bring digital business cards. Tickets must be purchased before the event, as they will not be available at the door.
The fundraiser will be hosted by YWCA Darien/Norwalk at 7:00 pm on Saturday, February 28, at the Dolce Hotels and Resorts, 32 Weed Avenue, Norwalk.
