What's Happening in Norwalk, CT…

Local beach hosting 4th of July celebrations

It’s almost time for celebrating our country’s independence, and that means getting ready for fun and fireworks. The City of Norwalk has announced that it will once again be staging its annual 4th of July celebration – an evening of music, comedy, and of course fireworks awaits one and all.

The first County Bank is again sponsoring the City of Norwalk Recreation and Parks Summer Concert Series. This year’s celebratory concert will begin with the Amazing Andy Show, which will include comedy, juggling, magic, and more. Bill Genuario and his band Destiny will perform next. The second venue will have everyone dancing to tunes by DJ Nuzzo. Further, Jimmy & the Parrots – a Jimmy Buffet Tribute Band that won the 2012 Trop Rock Music Award for entertainer of the year – will perform both before and after the spectacular display of fireworks.

This event should prove to be perfect for taking photographs for the city’s 2015 banner printing.

The celebration will take place July 3rd across two stages – the Showmobile at Calf Pasture Beach, 99 Calf Pasture Beach Road, Norwalk, and at nearby Shady Beach. Parking will only be available at Calf Pasture Beach, and will cost $20 per car for those not showing Norwalk resident passes. The festivities start at 5:30pm, with the fireworks beginning at dusk. The rain date is July 5th.
