Giving Day goes online for 2021
Fairfield County’s Community Foundation will present its eighth annual Giving Day in late February. This year the event is going online.
Fairfield County’s Giving Day will be a 24-hour fundraiser for to help local non-profits in the current challenging environment. Non-profits must register for $50. Each organization will receive online training workshops that will help the organization develop relationships with volunteers and reach new donors.
For this online fundraiser, each non-profit is given a profile page on which the organization displays its logo design, slogan, or any graphic design representation it wishes.
Norwalk donors can use any of the site’s easy ways to find the profile page of the organization they wish to support, and make their donation. The site will show donation tallies and a donor challenges leader board.
Local businesses can create their own custom Business Fundraiser profiles. These portals give the businesses a platform where they can urge their clients and employees to contribute to their favorite groups. Many often contribute matching corporate gifts to the non-profits to which their employees and clients donate.
Local businesses sponsor fundraisers like this as part of their community outreach programs, and to get good public relation information into their advertising brochure printing.
Last year’s efforts garnered over $1.65m. The funds benefitted 390 Fairfield County non-profits.
Giving Day will be Thursday, February 25 on the FCGives.org website.
