Community chorale group to give spring performance
There is music in the air as Norwalk Community Chorale (NCC) gets ready for its 53rd Annual Spring Concert.
This year’s performance is titled ‘With a Song in My Heart’ and is sponsored, as it has been throughout its long run, by the Norwalk Recreation and Parks Department. The event is designed for everyone and is free of charge to attend.
With a long-standing tradition of offering free concerts designed for the people of Norwalk, the organization is made up of local talented singers who just enjoy performing. Any resident can join, and there are no auditions.
Singing in four part harmony, this mixed chorus presents patriotic, classical, and spiritual music as well as show tunes, jazz, madrigals, and folk songs. Since its first concert in December, 1961, NCC has given a spring and a Christmas musical feast to Norwalk patrons every year, along with other charitable events at other times. Under the direction of Brian Muller, the chorus has grown to over 70 members over the last 15 years. The concert should provide an opportunity for photographers to get shots of the chorale members performing for their later poster printing order.
The Spring Concert will be given on Saturday, May 31 at 7:30 pm at Norwalk Concert Hall, 125 East Ave., Norwalk. Doors open at 7:00 pm.
