Aquarium to hold chocolate expo
With the holidays over, Norwalk families will no doubt be looking for other things to do, and might be interested to know that the Maritime Aquarium will be having its chocolate expo in just a couple of weeks.
The expo will be a celebration of chocolate and will offer tastings and sales of chocolates that will include baked goods, gelato, specialty foods, and wines. There will be vendors from the area and afar at the expo offering a huge variety of confections. There will also be several events, each designed to combine people’s love of chocolate with fun performances. Families will surely want to take lots of pictures for later use in postcard printing.
Many vendors will be offering free samples, but attendees should be prepared to open their wallets if they want to bring home some goodies. Chocolates available for sale will be unlike those typically found at the grocery store, because vendors make their ware the old-fashioned way, which means most are made without preservatives or other artificial ingredients. Chocolatiers take their craft very seriously, which explains the big crowds at the expo every year.
The expos will be held rain or shine Sunday January 25, from 10:00 am to 7:00 pm at the Maritime Aquarium, 10 North Water Street, Norwalk. Admission will be $15 for adults $10 for children aged 3 to 12.
