Rocky Vista University (RVU) in Parker will be holding an Ultrasound Basic Workshop later this month at its Southern Utah campus in Irvins.
The workshop will focus on ultrasound guided needle insertions. Objectives of the workshop are to enable attendees to understand the benefits and risks of ultrasound guided procedures; demonstrate the basic operating techniques of the ultrasound transducer and machine; demonstrate basic skills in ultrasound guided needle insertions; and be able to identify basic anatomical structures using ultrasound. Participants at such workshops often come away with many kinds of materials created by Print shops with detailed notes on the topics covered.
The registration fee for the workshop is $150 for adjunct clinical faculty of RVU, and $325 for all other healthcare professionals. The Utah Medical Association, which provides continuing medical education for physicians, allows three Category 1 credits for attending this workshop.
The Irvins campus of RVU is about 15 minutes from downtown St. George. Its academic center has an area of 104,000 square feet and has three seminar rooms, two 200-seat lecture halls, a multipurpose/neuroanatomy/ultrasound lab, and an osteopathic clinical skills lab, as well as a 4,300 square foot library and standardized patient rooms. Adjacent to the campus is the Southern Utah Veterans Home, which provides students with hands-on care experience.
The workshop is still scheduled at the time of writing and will take place on next Saturday, May 30 from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m.
