Bike riding in Parker takes center stage

Many cyclists here in Parker will be donning their helmets to take part in this year's Bike to Work Day coming toward the end of June.

Cyclists as well as Parker history buffs and commuters will be treated to a journey through the town's history at the Town of Parker Breakfast Station as displays of historic train engines, vintage bicycles and maps reflect this year's theme of "Transportation Then and Now”. A mock chuckwagon breakfast station on the Cherry Creek Trail will be serving a hot breakfast of pancakes from Flippin' Flapjacks, sausage and coffee. Riders may also get fresh fruit, grab-and go nutrition bars, and fill their water bottles at a hydration station.

Support services and bike safety technicians will be on hand to help with any basic bike maintenance.

The first 250 riders will receive Town of Parker Bike To Work Day T-Shirts.

Local organizations and businesses may set up their own stations in public parks, along trails, or in their places of business. Each station will have their own set of amenities that may include cider, water, hot chocolate, tea and water, and breakfast items like granola bars, and burritos. They may also be encouraged to provide swag such as Promotional Products and promotional Pens.

Each participating group needs to get their stations registered before the Way to Go team gets wayfinding Signs, event poster printing and banner printing done.

This year's Parker's Bike to Work Day will take place on Wednesday, June 24.
