Legendary rock band touches down in Parker

Parker’s The Studio at Mainstreet is hosting a concert by the Freddy Jones Band for one night only this September.

Founding member Marty Lloyd is the lyricist and vocalist behind many of the hits for which the Freddy Jones Band is most known, including top-charting single “In a Daydream.”

The influence of that song, in particular, continues to be felt to this day, despite being originally released in the mid-1990s. In 2026, “In a Daydream” was picked by NASA as the wake-up song for the astronauts aboard the Artemis II for their third day in flight. In response, the Freddy Jones Band released a special edition version of the song called “In a Daydream (Artemis II Reimagined),” along with an “Extended Moon” version of the song.

Reid Wiseman, the commander of NASA’s return mission to the moon in more than 50 years, chose “In a Daydream” as the wake-up call. He specifically requested it as a decades-long fan of the band and would listen to their signature track while in the military.
