Parker attends two international events

Fred Astaire Dance Studios here in Parker will be the hub of the Virtual International Championships in late January and Parker Arts will be celebrating Lunar New Year in late February.

The Virtual International Championships will be a hybrid celebration as dance contestants from around the nation, dancing in their local studios, are virtually connected to the studio here in Parker. It will be a starting competition for those looking to enter the World Cup Series and hopefully go on to the World Championships in Las Vegas at the end of July.

General admission is $150 and Last Chance Admission will be $165 starting January 17th.

The competition will take place January 23rd at the Fred Astaire Dance Studios, 11153 S. Parker Road, Suite S.

Lunar New Year will be for all ages, and although the event will be free RSVP will be required.

This year will be the Year of the Fire Horse, and attendees can look forward to traditional performances, interactive cultural activities, and martial arts demonstrations and mini classes.

The first time slot will run from 8:00 am to 9:30 am, the second from 9:30 am to 11:00 am and the third from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm.

Parker Arts Lunar New Year will take place Saturday February 28 at the Pace Center, 20000 Pikes Peak Avenue.
