Parker displays memorial banners

The Town of Parker's Memorial Banner Program will begin this year in early May.

The program has been created to honor residents who have served in the military. Each banner will display the recipient's name, years of service, and branch along with a photo. Once the template has been cleared and the banner printing is complete, the memorials will be hung on a streetlight near or in Living Wheel Park.

Eligibility requirements include verification that the veteran served in the U.S. Armed Forces, either died while on duty or was honorably discharged before death, and was a resident of Parker.

First priority will be given to those who lived in Incorporated Parker, followed by those who lived close by. If there are any banner spaces left, they will go to those who resided outside the Greater Parker area.

Banners must be paid for and requested by the veteran's immediate family (siblings, children, spouse, or parents). The cost will be $150 per banner, which covers production, design, installation, and removal, and must be paid in advance. The cost will be $50 for those already having a useable banner from prior years.

Banners will be hung up on May 1, with 14 spaces available. After they have been taken down on July 4 they will be available for collection at 18921 Plaza Drive, Suite 102.
