Parker lovers of Christmas and/or orchestral rock music are in for a treat this fall, as the Blue Violin’s Candlelight Christmas Tour is making a stop in Parker this year at the end of November.
Described as a mix between the Trans-Siberian Orchestra and Lindsey Stirling, the show features the artist known as Blue Violin playing an electric fiddle, sometimes alone, but most often with a backing band and/or orchestra. His style ranges from soft and mellow to soaring, nearly screaming compositions more often heard on electric guitar. Tickets can be purchased through Parker Arts ranging from $32 to $42.
Blue Violin is known for both his own compositions and for new takes on old standbys--turning something as simple as Carol of the Bells, for example, into a multi-layered orchestral piece. The setlist for the current show is eclectic, ranging from traditional tunes, such as God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen, to songs that have barely a whisper of attachment to the yuletide, such as Stairway to Heaven by Led Zeplin and Freedom by Pharrel. The show will also feature various types of multimedia.
Performers often go to Print shops early in their careers to have the shops create a graphic design or Logo Design to be put on fan merchandise.
Blue Violin and his ensemble will be performing at the Parker Arts Center, 19650 Mainstreet, Saturday, November 29 from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm.
