Over 700 residents of Parker are looking to have four empty lots in the Mainstreet area developed with small-scale retail shops, breweries, and restaurants. The lots include one just west of Discovery Park and the Parker Library, a lot in front of the PACE Center, and two starting from the east end of Victorian Drive to the eastern end of Mainstreet.
During the first phase of the development process, P3, or Partnering for Parker’s Progress, asked residents for their input on the project. Redevelopment manager for P3, Weldy Feazell, said that developers have been through several iterations on this project and now that there has been greater input and involvement from the community, the project can now move into phase two.
Feazell said that during this phase, residents will be asked about their visual preferences. There has been a request for more open spaces but those mean different things to different people. The Let’s Talk Parker website will be posting pictures of various types of parks and open spaces to get residents to think about the visual representation of the area and to provide their concerns and thoughts.
Banner printing companies can be hired to create displays and Banners that can be posted throughout the community, so that people learn more about being about to provide their input into such projects and help shape the future landscape of such towns.
