Parker venue to teach kids Valentines-themed cooking

A popular venue in Parker is holding a themed version of one of its classes aimed at young children in early February.

Kids Cooking Valentine Surprises is an event where youngsters are able to learn a trio of recipes made to celebrate Valentine’s Day by incorporating iconic shapes and colors.

Karon Sorensen will not only guide the attendees through these dishes, but also aid them in learning several skills they can apply to anything they may make in their kitchens. These include the practice of reading and following a recipe, baking, mixing, and measuring. The menu will feature a tossed strawberry salad, individual pizzas in a heart form, and a dessert of pink sugar cookie hearts.

After the event, kids will be able to show their loved ones the dishes they now know how to make, as they will be provided with recipe Copies. The ages for the experience range from six to twelve. While kids do not need to bring anything with them, it is necessary that they wear closed-toed shoes and have long hair secured out of the way. Active Kids provides registration access for the class, which has a $48 fee. Flyer printing is a popular advertising practice for community centers and similar venues.

The PACE Center is the venue for the cooking class, which is on Saturday, February 3, from 9:00am until 12:00pm.
