A Parker camp is set to give youngsters a glimpse into a long-used method of filmmaking with a familiar medium in early January.
Animation Studio is a camp featuring a teacher from Snapology. The campers will use Lego as the main material for their projects. Kids will work in several smaller groups to create stop-motion flicks, adding sound effects and lines to the imagery they put together. In addition to the practice of stop-motion, the participants will be taught about working with others, creative thinking in a group setting, and the fundamental pieces needed to tell a complete story.
The lesson has been set up for six- to twelve-year-olds. Kids will be able to show off their finished movies through a secure webpage on which they will be posted. The films will be completed during the four-day activity.
Admission is $215 per camper, with registration open on the Active Kids site. People will need to have or set up an account on the site in order to sign up for the activities listed.
PACE Center will be acting as the venue for the duration of the experience. Many educational camps are promoted using flyer printing. The dates are January 2, 3, 4, and 5, and each of these dates will have the class running between 9:00 am and 12:00 noon.
