Parker project seeks participation of residents

Four lots on the eastern end of Mainstreet purchased by the town of Parker have remained empty, and Partnering for Parker’s Progress (P3) is looking for input from residents of the town for suggestions for their development.

Redevelopment manager for P3, Weldy Feazell, commented that the various recommendations made by developers primarily been opposed by the community as the feeling was they were not involved in the recommendation process. Consequently, P3 is looking for residents to provide their input.

Feazell said these properties were purchased for development so they cannot remain as open spaces. Something needs to be built on these properties so as to provide some revenue stream.

Residents will be able to provide feedback on a website which set up by P3 called “My Mainstreet” project. Residents have until October to enter their comments. P3 will have several ways to gather input from residents in addition to the website, including presentations through town hall meetings, presentations, and contacting the organization directly.

Michelle Kivela, Town Administrator, said the project will enable business owners and residents of Parker to work in a collaborative fashion with the town, P3, and the development community to plan for the future of Mainstreet.

Flyer printing is often used to create Flyers to publicize the request of such input and its benefits for the entire community.
