Parker orchestra holds last two concerts of season

The Parker Symphony Orchestra will be holding its last two concerts - one in February and the other in May.

Using the 2025-2025 season theme of “Something Old, Something New, Something Borrowed, Something Blue” the orchestra will present Everything Old is New Again.

The "Old" pieces will include O. Respighi's Ancient Airs and Dances, Suite #2, and C.M. von Weber's 8 Pieces, his Op.60: IV all Zingara, his Turandot Overture and March, and his 6 Pieces Op.10a, Andantino con moto.

The "New" will be represented by Koji Kondo's Legend of Zelda, and "Borrowed" will be the Symphonic Metamorphosis by Paul Hindemith, a piece which has reworked some of Carl von Weber's themes.

The "Blue" will be L. Anderson's Blue Tango.

Everything Old is New Again will be performed Friday, February 28th beginning at 7:30 pm.

The theme will be used again for the last performance of the season with a program entitled "New World."

The "Old" will be F. Von Suppe's Poet and Peasant Overture; the ""Borrowed" will be D. Shostakovich's Tahiti Trot and the "Blue" will be W.C.Handy's St. Louis Blues.

The "New "will be A. Dvorak's Symphony No. 9, most of us know as the New World Symphony.

The New World program will take place Friday, May 16th, 2025, beginning at 7:30 pm.

Symphonic music lovers often like to support the arts by getting some flyer printing done for special concerts like these.

Both concerts will be at the PACE Center, 20000 Pikes Peak Avenue, Parker.
