Parker festival returns for four days

The annual carnival, music and beer festival, and outdoor exposition known as Parker Days will be starting later this week.

The CEO of the Parker Area Chamber of Commerce, Dennis Houston, commented that the event is the highlight of the year for the town, as people change their vacation schedules just to attend it and the population of the town quadrupled during its running. Events such as this often use flyer printing to promote themselves to those who live in the surrounding cities and towns.

There were close to 272,000 people attending the four-day festival in 2018 while that number was 125,000 in 2013. Houston is hoping to have the largest crowd ever for this year’s festival.

All the concerts are free and over 250 local businesses will participate in the exposition. The types of music will be tribute bands from across the United States. Small kids and toddlers will be able to create crafts in a Girl Scout Activity tent. There will be Carnival Hill, a carnival for kids, and plenty of cotton candy and kettle corn.

There is also a new ticketing system, as one type of ticket will be used for all activities at the festival, including food, drinks, and rides.

Parker Days begins this Thursday, June 6 and will last for four days through the weekend.
