Parker will welcome the Lunar New Year with a Lunar New Year Celebration coming in mid-February.
This celebration will welcome the Year of the Snake with an opening ceremony running for 10:00 am to 10:30 pm followed by morning activities from 10:30 am to 11:30 am.
These activities will include traditional music and dance performances that will depict Lunar New Year heritage and culture like the lion and dragon dances, and martial arts demonstrations.
Midday activities will be from 11:30 am to 1:00 pm and will include mini classes featuring stories, and Lunar New Year customs and traditions. Interactive cultural exhibits will showcase historical insights, artifacts and traditional clothing.
The afternoon celebration will be from 1:00 pm to 2:30 pm and will include hands-on activities that will give attendees experience in paper cutting, calligraphy, and lantern making. There will also be Kung Fu workshops, live entertainment from local groups and artists, tea tasting and food stalls.
Themed photo booths will be stationed around the venue offering a variety of Lunar New Year's props and ornaments.
Pictures taken at these kinds of events often go to local Print shops to be duplicated for relatives or included in Lunar New Year-affiliated association newsletters.
Although admission will be free, for health and safety reasons, registration is required.
The 2025 Lunar New Year festival will take place February 15th, at the Pace Center, 20000 Pikes Peak Avenue.
