Fright Night comes to Parker

The Parker Parks and Recreation Department is planning a special event at the Fieldhouse later this month.

Fieldhouse Fright Night will be a family-friendly event for spooky spirits, wicked witches, and ghastly ghouls of all ages, sizes, and shapes.

There will be a family costume contest in which both parents and children can take part. Kids’ categories for judging costumes will be most original and cutest for kids between two and four years old; most original and funniest for kids between five and seven years old, and eight and 10 years old; and most original and scariest for those over the age of 11. Families with the best costumes will also be judged.

A Climbing Wall and Ghoulish Games on the turf are also planned, as well as a family-friendly haunted house.

There will be “scream rooms” converted from the team rooms, along with opportunities for local vendors for crafts and a haunted house. Kids will be kept entertained by games, and will have the chance to collect candy as they walk down Trick-or-Trick Street.

The Parks and Recreation Department might benefit from the assistance of a local printing company to promote this event with Posters that can be displayed throughout town.

Fright Night will take place on Saturday, October 22 from 5:30 to 9:00 pm with judging of costumes scheduled for 7:00 pm.
