The Parker Days Festival is coming to the town for four days later this month.
According to Sara Crowe, organizer of the festival, it has been running in the town for 39 years and now has become an act of balancing favorites attractions and finding new ones, but there will be much to offer everyone to ensure lasting memories will be made.
Returning are the clowns and street performers and carnival food, including barbecue, cotton candy, kettle corn, and deep-fried Snickers and Oreos. Drinks available will be various soft drinks, smoothies, lemonade, and new this year, Lipton Iced Tea.
Also returning will be the Stunt Jump with Ronald McDonald performing magic immediately afterward at the community stage. The parade is a firm family favorite and will feature mascots from several professional sports teams as well as two high school marching bands, floats, horses, clowns, and more.
A big part of the Parker Days Festival is music with the kick-off concert by 38 Special, a classic rock band. Other performers will include Love and Theft, country music singers, on the Main Stage, and performers of all ages and varieties, cultural presentations and demonstrations on the Community Stage.
The Parker Days Festival will be held beginning the evening of June 9 and running through June 12. Crowe might turn to banner printing companies to promote the various activities and events during the weekend.
