Annual Parker Days festival returns to Mainstreet

An annual four-day festival was recently held on Mainstreet, where Parker Days hosted carnival rides, a parade, and entertainment on three stages.

Kicking off the festivities was Trace Adkins, country music star and supporter of the Wounded Warrior project. Other entertainment included Queen Nation, Project Foreigner, and The Tom Petty Project on one day; Buckstein, Steve Thomas Band, and Mr. Maestik’s 8 Track Revival on another; and Soul X, Nacho Men, and Running with Scizzors on the last day.

Carnival rides were available all four days, and wine and whiskey tasting garden tours took place over the weekend, including on the Friday. There was also a farmers’ market, various booths, street performers, and BMX sports bike stunt shows.

The theme for the parade was Hometown Heroes and it included horses, floats, and high school marching bands. There was also the Parker Days Car Show and a pancake breakfast, the proceeds of which went to benefit the Parker Task Force Food Bank.

Parker Advent Hospital was the supporting sponsor. Other sponsors included Douglas County Libraries, Community Bank of Colorado, and Colorado Community Media. The festival is a signature event of the Parker Area Chamber of Commerce.
