The Majestic Commercenter and the city of Aurora, just a short distance from Parker, will be the first location in Colorado for a new Amazon package sorting center.
The facility will be 452,400 square feet in size and be used for the arrival of sealed packages and their sorting by zip code, so they can be delivered to United States Post Offices in the local area. It will be located in Building 29 in the corporate center, which was new construction by Majestic Reality.
According to Amazon spokeswoman Ashley Robinson, hundreds of new part-time fulfillment associates will be hired for the facility where they will sort, pack and ship customer orders. The company might consider hiring a local Print company to Print Flyers and mailers, which can be distributed throughout the area to inform residents of these employment opportunities.
Wendy Mitchell, president and CEO of the Aurora Economic Development Council, said that the largest e-commerce retailer in the world was attracted to the city due to its location, workforce and business-friendly environment.
Robinson added that the expansion of the company into Colorado with this package sorting center will enable faster delivery times so that customers can be better served.
Amazon.com is also looking for a logistics manager based in nearby Denver. This job will require a range of responsibilities from being able to lift up to 49 pounds, to implementing new technology platforms.
