Caspian formed in Beverly, Massachusetts, in 2003, first performing in clubs as it developed its material. In May, 2004, the group recorded a demo, and in 2005, put out their first EP, “You Are the Conductor.” Following the release, the band went on their first tour, covering the Northeast only, and playing in Pittsburgh, Washington, D.C., and New York City. Caspian toured the entire nation in 2006, and released a second EP that year.
The band continually gained recognition, and in 2012 released “Waking Season,” which SPIN Magazine called the “Best Post-Rock Album of the Year.” In 2015, they released “Dust & Disquiet,” which took the group in a new direction.
A review of Caspian live says the band has:
“an incredible ability to express an emotion and concept through their music that words along simply cannot (and, indeed, they manage it largely without words at all).”
The reviewer continued by noting that:
“Every single member [of the band] was completely immersed in the moment.”
Caspian will appear at the Art Theatre of Long Beach, an easy drive from La Palma, on February 12 at 8.00 pm, with the doors opening at 7.00 pm. Flyer printing is sometimes used as a way to make people aware of events like this.
