The City of La Palma always rings in the holidays in style, and this year will be no exception.
The annual Christmas Tree Lighting & Santa's Village are now on the schedule, and will kick off the festive season. This is the 36th year of the event, and everyone is invited. Every year, La Palma residents come together to mark the start of the holidays with concerts by students from local schools, as well as the popular Community Carol Sing Along. People who know the carols are encouraged to belt out the tunes. They can also help children learn the music and lyrics as they share this experience.
Rumors say that Santa is coming to La Palma, along with some of his elves, all to join in the fun. In addition to musical performances, there will be a chance to engage in arts and crafts, and a station where people can write to Santa if they haven’t already done so.
The celebration is scheduled for Wednesday, December 6, from 4:00 pm until 8:30 pm. Santa’s Village will open at 4:00 pm, and the special guest for the day, Santa himself, will arrive at 4:30 pm. The Tree Lighting Ceremony will take place at 5:30 pm at the La Palma Central Park Pavilion on Walker Street. Cities in a holiday frame of mind can create identical outdoor decorations using banner printing, and place the Banners throughout the area.
