La Palma has released its lineup of concerts for its 2020 Concerts in the Park Series. This year the city will be “Rock 'n through the Summer.”
The concerts are scheduled for Saturdays throughout the warmer months, at various times, in Central Park. Parking and admission are free, and beverages and food are available for sale.
The series starts July 11, with the Outlaw Band playing a “Hometown Heroes Concert” featuring “Tribute to Music from the Vietnam War.” The Outlaw Band plays classic rock, and is scheduled to play from 6.00 pm until 8.00 pm.
On July 18, the Suffragettes Band will be on stage from 6.30 pm until 8.00 pm. The all-girl band plays covers of Top 40s hits.
July 25 brings Savor the Band to the stage, from 6.30 pm until 8.00 pm. A tribute band, Savor the Band plays the hits of Santana, going back to 1969. Their setlist features classics like “Black Magic Woman,” “Oye Como Va,” and “Evil Ways.”
On August 1, from 6.30 pm until 8.00 pm, it's the turn of The Emperors to entertain. Fans of classic rock will find some of their favorites on this band's setlist, including “Dancin' in the Streets,” and “Gimme Shelter.”
The season winds down August 8, with Stone Soul, a tribute band honoring the great Motown sound, playing from 5.30 pm until 8.00 pm.
