La Palma is getting ready to start the countdown to the holidays with a popular annual event.
For the 33rd year, the City of La Palma is holding its Annual Holiday Tree Lighting Ceremony, which is part of an entire evening of events that residents look forward to sharing. Students from various La Palma schools will perform seasonal music, and then join residents to ring in the holidays with a Community Carol Sing Along.
Santa and Mrs. Claus will be arriving before the tree lighting begins, which will give attendees an opportunity to have their photo taken with the couple and their elves early in the evening, and spend a few minutes chatting with the Jolly Old Elf and his wife.
In addition, there will be an area for arts and crafts, and a station where children can write their letters to Santa. The highlight of the evening will be the lighting of the city's Christmas tree. Banner printing can be used to create holiday decorations for events like this.
The festivities take place December 4. Crafting events and visits with Santa are scheduled from 4:00 pm until 5:30 pm, with the formal tree lighting ceremony taking place at 5:30 pm. The location is the Central Park Pavilion, and although everyone has their fingers crossed for good weather, the events will be rescheduled if it rains.
