La Palma gets ready for Halloween

An increasing number of communities are celebrating Halloween as a special event for residents, but this is something La Palma has been doing for years.

This October, for the 46th year, La Palma is holding a Halloween Carnival, and inviting everybody to the party.

The carnival is family-friendly, with special events planned for children. A game area will be created just for kids under five, and there is even a haunted maze. Always popular, a costume contest for infants to those in sixth grade will give children a chance to dress up as their favorite characters. In addition, families can take part, but in their own division.

The costume contest times are as follows: two years and younger, 6:30 pm; children aged three to five, 6:50 pm; and children in grades one through three, 7:10 pm.

At 7:30 pm, the stage is open to families who have all come in costume, and the last group, children in grades four through six, goes on at 7:50 pm. Attendees should note that if it rains, the event will be called off.

The Annual Halloween Carnival takes place October 31, at Central Park, located on Walker Street. The event runs from 6:00 pm to 8:30 pm, and admission is free.

By working with a flyer printing company to create a handout listing the attractions, where they are, and the times of special events, organizers of carnivals can help the day run smoothly.
