Marconi Society to organize gala in Berkeley

The Marconi Society will be hosting a gala in Berkeley at the University of California's Pauley Ballroom.

The Decade of Digital Inclusion is an in-person gala and virtual symposium that wishes to achieve digital equity by bringing tech visionaries together and holding presentations. The gala will honor Siavash Alamouti, the creator of the Alamouti Code and this year's winner of the Marconi Prize. Nick McKeown will give a keynote presentation titled Advancing Tech Equity Around the World, and Andrea Goldsmith will present the award to Alamouti.

More than 30 industry professionals will be taking part in the online symposium, such as Joshua Edmunds and Paul Gertler. The conference has several sessions, including Bringing Digital Equity into Tomorrow's Technology and Creating Sustainable Funding Strategies for Digital Equity. The society's event is held in partnership with the Center for Effective Global Action and the Haas School of Business Institute for Business and Social Impact.

The event will last from November 2 to 3. The in-person gala will be held on November 3 from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm. Tickets will cost $250 per person, and patron tickets will be $500. Tables for eight people may be bought for $2,000. There is no fee to enter the Marconi Society's virtual symposium. Companies behind formal events like this may use poster printing to advertise their galas.
