Berkeley’s Greek Theatre will host a trio of unique voices in the rock landscape with an upcoming concert from Father John Misty, Lucinda Williams and Hamilton Leithauser.
Each artist comes from a slightly different generation in the world of popular music.
Father John Misty, real name Josh Tillman, came to prominence in the last 15 years. Formerly the drummer of Fleet Foxes, he began releasing music under the moniker Father John Misty in 2012. His sixth and latest album is called Mahashmashana.
Lucinda Williams has been creating music for decades. Now in her 70s, the artist has won multiple Grammys for songwriting with 16 studio albums to her name, the latest being Stories from a Rock n Roll Heart. After recovering from a stroke in 2020, Williams remains active in music and as an author.
Active since the early 2000s, Hamilton Leithauser is the frontman of The Walkmen. His most recent solo album is This Side of the Island. His latest effort is a pivot away from the more folk-influenced work of his two previous albums in favor of a more R&B-influenced sound.
