Berkeley families enjoy animal encounters

Kids may appreciate the chance to interact with wildlife, and it may also help spark an interest in environmental advocacy. This is the experience that will be provided by a Berkeley venue later this month.

UC Botanical Garden at Berkeley will roll out the welcome mat for families at its Animal Day. Advance registration is not necessary as the included with general admission tickets to the venue.

The Garden has plans that will be for every age, and there will be craft make-and-takes, interactive displays, live animal encounters, tours, and other experiences. Everyone can make a beeline to the venue’s hives so they can see the bees in action, and a docent will lead the families on a butterfly safari. There will be lizards and raptors to meet along with some newts, and picnics and Halloween costumes are encouraged.

Parks, gardens and other outdoor event spaces provide a location for an assortment of activities, which may include sales booths and tables. Drapes, backdrops, pop-up feather flags, and decor that grabs the attention of passers-by can be ordered from a banner printing company for a budget-friendly price.

This day of nature-based fun will begin welcoming the public at 10:00 am on Sunday, October 25, before wrapping up at 2:00 am. The entry gates are located at 200 Centennial Drive in Berkeley.
