Jazz quintet takes the stage in Berkeley

Berkeley’s The Back Room is set to be filled with the sound of jazz when The Alchemist Quintet performs.

Influenced by a variety of offshoots in the modern jazz scene and more traditional music, The Alchemist Quintet offers original musical numbers performed using violin, sax, piano, drums, and bass.

The group comprises John Kiskaddon, Greg German, Doug Pet, Michele Walther, and Ted Burik. Together, they create music using an eclectic array of influences, including Eastern European music, medieval English ballads, bebop and other styles of jazz, dance, and Indian raga.

The band has performed all over the world, including Europe, South America, and the U.S., particularly in the Bay Area. They have shared the stage or the recording studio with a number of notable artists, such as Gerald Beckett, Resonance Jazz, Barbara Morrison, Benny Rietveld, Ian Anderson, and Jethro Tull.

Musical events like these may choose to use logo design services for merchandise, album covers, and promotion both inside and outside of the venue.

Though The Back Room venue is considered all-ages friendly, people 21 and over are also welcome to bring their own alcohol or even their own food and beverages, if they choose.

The Alchemist Quintet is performing on Sunday, June 1 from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm at The Back Room in Berkeley at 1984 Bonita Ave.
