Berkeley university to hold innovation conference

The University of California in Berkeley will host a conference in November where people can learn about innovation.

The World Open Innovation Conference is an annual event that showcases recent academic research on innovation and gives professionals a space to network and learn from industry experts. The theme for this year’s program is Open Innovation and Emerging Technologies, which will be focused on how organizations can enhance their value. Students and emerging scholars can submit research papers to the event for a chance to win cash awards and free admission to the next innovation conference.

The keynote speakers for the conference will be Henry Chesbrough and Marcel Bogers. Chesbrough is a staff member at the Garwood Center for Corporate Innovation and the Haas School of Business. He started the World Open Innovation Conference in 2014. Bogers is a professor at the Eindhoven University of Technology in the Netherlands. He teaches open and collaborative innovation and is also affiliated with the University of Copenhagen.

The innovation conference will be on Wednesday, November 6 and Thursday, November 7. The cost of regular admission to the event is €765 (around $855), though discounts are available to students and those who only attend the conference online. People can also pay €105 ($118) to take part in a post-conference visit. Universities that organize similar gatherings may use flyer printing to advertise their events.
