Berkeley to organize beginners herbalism course

Those interested in bringing herbs into their daily lives can attend a class in August offered by the Berkeley Herbal Center.

An Introduction to Herbalism is a program where students can learn about different beneficial uses for herbs. The class is organized by Ashley Campos and will go over subjects such as basic human physiology and helpful herbal remedies for different body systems. During the course, participants will prepare herbal products such as teas, lotions, and syrups. Students will also go on an herb walk in a local natural area.

The Berkeley Herbal Center is an educational institution that studies and practices traditional Western herbalism. The organization was established in 1995 and founded by Pam Fischer. The school has a certification program where students learn about topics like herbal therapeutics and participate in clinical internships. Educators offering programs such as this may use brochure printing to inform potential students about available classes.

The herbalism course will be held on August 5, 12, 19, and 26. Each class will last from 6:30 pm to 9:30 pm. The nature walk will occur on Sunday, August 22 from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm. The cost to enroll in the program will be $485 per student. All lessons will be held at the Berkeley campus.
