Berkeley to organize 3rd annual childrens carnival

The organization BANANAS will be holding a children’s carnival in Berkeley this August to provide families with a fun afternoon.

The 3rd Annual Unpeeled Children’s Carnival is a festival that provides families with entertaining experiences. The mayors of Alameda, Albany, and Berkeley will be attending the event to participate in storytime sessions throughout the afternoon. The carnival will also feature singalongs, a magic show, and a group arts and crafts activity. Children can even explore a fire truck from the Berkeley Fire Department. The festival will include various carnival games and a petting zoo.

BANANAS is an organization that supports child caregivers and families in northern Alameda County by offering payment assistance programs, support groups, coaching, and workshops. The organizers hope to raise $7,500 at the carnival, which will cover event venue fees, child-friendly live shows, and T-Shirts for volunteers. Charitable groups like BANANAS can use graphic design to create Apparel for those who help out at public events.

The annual carnival for this year will be held on Saturday, August 8 from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm. The activity is free to enter, though families can register in advance. Beverages and snacks like cotton candy and pizza will be available at the concession stand. People who want to support BANANAS can donate money on the carnival’s Eventbrite page.
