Berkeley photographer to organize in-person class

Photographers who want to broaden their skills can attend a course in September held at the MIG Meeting Place in Berkeley.

Photographing Flowers for Transparency is a live course taught by Harold Davis where students can learn how to create floral masterpieces from a professional photographer. Davis is an award winner who has written several Books on photography, including Creative Garden Photography and Photographing Flowers: Exploring Macro Worlds with Harold Davis. Photographers often promote themselves and their work by using business card printing.

The course will cover several important topics, such as arrangement, composition, and post-production. Students who wish to follow the post-production examples during the class must bring a laptop with Photoshop and HDR Efex Pro. The lessons will also define translucency and go over how to shoot on a light box. Participants will have a chance to ask questions during Q&A sessions and have their work critiqued over a Zoom call about two weeks after the course is finished.

The photography class will take place on Saturday, September 25 and Sunday, September 26. The tuition cost for the course will be $1,195 per person. All participants are asked to have their COVID-19 vaccinations. The organizers of the event will comply with all enforced health regulations. People should bring a camera and its manual, a way to take notes, and a tripod if they own one.
