Berkeley camp to teach teens game design

Camp Integem will be organizing a two-week game design program in June at Martin Luther King Middle in Berkeley.

Teenagers interested in developing their game design skills can attend a program offered by Camp Integem. During the camp, students will learn about topics like basic and advanced artificial intelligence (AI) principles, 3D holographic AR (augmented reality) coding, and the techniques of 3D modeling. Participants will also be taught interactive storytelling techniques and how to code using Python. Each session will include designated times for having snacks and playing outdoors.

Camp Integem is an organization that offers a variety of technology-related workshops and camps for children in all grade levels. Past courses from the group include AR Coding-Nature Exploration, AR Digital Art, and Interactive 3D Holographic AR Animation with Adobe Character Animator. The camps are held in cities throughout California, such as Palo Alto and Danville. Each program from the organization has an 8:1 student-teacher ratio to ensure participants get personalized attention.

The game design camp will take place from June 27 to July 8 and last from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm. The program costs $1,063 per student. Attendees may bring their own lunch or buy food from the organizers. Those who do not have a personal computer can rent one from the camp. People who coordinate summer programs like this may use poster printing to increase interest in the activities.
