This is the time of year when the Baker Performing Arts begins getting ready for its fall performances. This year it will be presenting Disney’s Aladdin for Kids, Beauty and the Beast Jr., and Rapunzel.
Disney’s Aladdin kids’ version will begin rehearsals for children from the ages of 5 to 12 years old. All who sign up will receive parts. One location for rehearsals will be at Baker Performing Arts at 2015 S. Alma School Road, Mesa. Those will be on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. Performances will be according to rehearsal dates –September 17, 19, and 21 respectively.
The ones at Desert Hills High School, 1515 S. Val Vista, Gilbert will be on Mondays and Wednesdays. Monday’s performance will be September 16 and Wednesday’s will be September 18th.
Teens from ages 13 through 18 can attend rehearsals for Beauty and the Beast on Saturdays from 10:30 am until 1:00 pm from August 10 through September 28 at the theater. This performance is slated for 7:00 pm Saturday, September 28th.
Repunzel, an acting-only play, will be for children and teens from 8 to 18 years old. Rehearsals will be Tuesdays from August 6 through September 24, with the performance on Tuesday, September 24.
All performances will start at 7:00 pm at the Baker Performing Arts location.
Parents like to take pictures of their budding actors in costume to local Print shops for duplicates to send to friends and relatives.
