To remember Earth Day, The city’s Mesa Parks and Recreation will be hosting its Celebrate Mesa 2017 this month.
The theme of the event will be ‘We only have one Earth to share’. The festivities will be free and family oriented.
There will be Earth Day activities, displays, and booths that will be disseminating Flyers with information, ideas, natural products, and available services. The Living Green Village will be showing passersby how to have a more eco-focused lifestyle.
Kids can run the bases just like the Oakland Athletics, time their best fastballs, jump in the bounce houses, and participate in child-oriented games. A Tot Spot area will have activities for toddlers. There will also be a petting zoo,and organizers promise there will be entertainment, giveaways and contests. Carnival rides, titled the Uproar, Ballistic Swing and Meltdown Rides, will require $5 wristbands, and some height and age restrictions will apply.
Nonprofits will also have booths with representatives to explain their organizations’ services. Other vendors will be selling retail items and handmade crafts. Food trucks will have food available for purchase.
This will be a near ‘Zero Waste’ event, which means that 100% of the waste will be either recycled or composted.
The fun will be at Hohokam Stadium, 1235 North Center Street, Mesa on Saturday, April 22 from 12:00 noon until 4:00 pm.Get a Free Quote for Flyers
